People are now asking for connection to the Internet through wireless hotspots called Wi-Fi Hotspots. These Wi-Fi Hotspots allow users to connect to the Internet without wires being connected to one's computer. For golfers, this enables them to take their notebook computers to their country club and be able to connect to the Internt and check their email and surf the web from the 19th hole or their golf cart (if they want to be distracted from their round). As well, it will allow courses to configure their carts to have connection to the clubhouse/pro shop to request anything, get leaderboard data (if they are playing in a tournament), and more.
From a golf course operation's perspective, this allows computers to network with one another without laying physical cables such as CAT 5. This enables computers to be moved around to the most realvant corners of the club, including in the maintenance facility, on tractors, and more.
